Honeymoon - Grand Cayman

Paul & I went to Grand Cayman for our honeymoon. We had a great time. Paul got is SCUBA Diving certification while we were there. While Paul was doing his pool work and open water dives, I did my re-fresher course. We both did very well. I thought for sure I would panic, but I didn't -- yeah! It was a great week of relaxation. We hit all the great spots!

While we were in Grand Cayman, Kaimon was with my parents taking a road trip across country -- from Los Angeles to Charlotte, NC. Along the way they stopped by Texas to see Uncle Barry and his family. Kaimon had an awesome time. They experienced a major rain & lightening storm in AZ, went to petrified forest, did some fishing & camping .... etc.

On our way back home, we stopped by Charlotte to pick Kaimon up. What was supposed to be an easy 2 hour flight turned into a major ordeal. We flew from Grand Cayman to Miami, where we were supposed to get a flight to Charlotte. Well that flight was canceled due to mechanical problems. So we had to get a flight from Miami to St. Louis, then St. Louis to Charlotte. Our 2 hour flight turned into a 12 hour flight. We could've almost drove to Charlotte faster.

The ocean is a turquoise blue!! xxxxxxxxxxxx This is a Blue Iguana, which are only in Cayman.

Moving Day!!

Beverly Hillbillies here we come!! A move isn't complete without some broken glasses. We loaded up the truck and moved to Rancho Cucamonga....

Getting our house in Palmdale all packed up. What a chore that was. My mom and Scott came over to help. They were awesome!! The men loaded it all up on the truck!

Had to pull over on the way as boxes starting shifting .... then blowing off the truck. One of the boxes hit the car behind us in the windshield. Yikes!! No on got hurt, thank goodness. But I did lose my favorite glasses from Pier 1.

I'm sure our new neighbors were cringing at the site of us pulling up!! All in all, the move wasn't too bad. It took me a month to pack everything up in boxes. It took the men about 4 hours to load it all up, another couple of hours to unload the truck. Then at least a month for me to put everything away. I don't want to move again!!

Kaimon'ts 8th Birthday

Kaimon turned 8 years old!!! He had a party with his friends at Mulligan's Family Fun Center. We had pizza and soda, opened presents, then went and had fun with the paddle boats, go-carts, miniture golf and rock climbing. It was a bitter sweet party -- as we were moving away the next weekend. It was great having everyone there for Kaimon's party in Palmdale.

New House

The Lord has blessed us with a beautiful house in a great neighborhood in Rancho Cucamonga. We have been welcomed by all our neighbors with open arms. 3 of our neighbors are actually from North Carolina. When I heard the Southern accent and felt the warm welcome, I knew we were at "home". Paul & Justin moved in last weekend. Kaimon and I will move in the weekend of June 14th, when Kaimon is out of school. We will finally be able to live like a married couple. We are looking forward to it.

Hockey Tournament - Phoenix AZ

We had a WONDERFUL Memorial Day weekend in Phoenix for a Hockey Tournament. We stayed at the Westin in Scottsdale. I highly recommend this hotel... especially if you have kids. The hotel had a Indiana Jones Theme with lots of activities for kids. We enjoyed having Justin, Amber, Chris, Kenzie, Stevie & Cynthia at the tournament with us. Paul, Justin, Stevie & Chris were on the same team during the tournament.

We started off the weekend staying at Dave & Christina's house in Avondale. Thank you so much Dave & Christina for opening up your beautiful home to us. It was so nice spending time with you. Your house is just as lovely as you 2. It was truly a blessing to spend time with you.

On Friday afternoon Kaimon participated in an Indiana Jones Scavanger Hunt throughout the premise of the hotel ... without parents. The hotel had tons of game coordinates, tour guides, etc. with the intent of keeping the kids busy and give the parents some free time. After the scavager hunt we enjoyed smores at the fire pit.

On Friday night Paul had a late night hockey game. We won 6 to 4, which started off the Tournament on a positive note. It was a really good game.

The Phoenix Zoo brought animals to the hotel. We saw up close and personal many cool animals.

Saturday afternoon Paul had another hockey game. It was a huge win for us -- 11 to 0. The team we were playing was in the wrong league. They didn't stand a chance. They had 2 females on their team -- the goalie was a female. I felt sorry for them.

That evening Kaimon had a PJ party at the hotel. He had a great time. He went dressed in his PJs, enjoyed Pizza, a movie, video games and they shot guns and threw axes -- Indiana Jones style. We went out to dinner with the hockey team --- a nice dinner at Morton's Steakhouse. Wow, their food is awesome. Expensive, but awesome. After dinner we went to pick Kaimon up from his PJ party and he wasn't ready to leave yet. So we went back to our room and was able to watch a movie ourselves. Great time for Kaimon and us.

Paul had another game on Sunday morning. We got beat ... 4 to 0. We couldn't get the puck in the net for anything. It was very frustrating. It wasn't from lack of trying. The goalie was huge and just about covered the entire net.

By this time we were in 2nd place, which put us in the Semi-Finals. Unfortunately, we lost the game during the semi-finals therefore we were knocked out of the Finals. The team we played was so obnoxious. The spectators were extremely noisey and the kids intollerable. The team on the ice were the worst bunch of sore winners we've ever seen. For a non-contact hockey league, it was very physical.

Even though we didn't win the tournament, we had a great time!! I look forward to this hotel next year.
